Hydroplane scratch build from wood, Based on full size USA unlimited Hydroplanes, which use helicopter jet engines and are capable of running at speeds of
200MPH! as for the model its capable of speeds over 60mph, but is still being
tuned. The model was built using plans from USA, and is very complex and defiantly not for beginners! For a change, this boat
uses a OPS 90 engine and
pipe. And the drive is as simple as it can be with a
coupling on the engine joining to a straight ¼” shaft and a propeller on the
end. Construction webpage is here.

Scratch build from wood, very simple and made up as went along! Powered by a
3.5cc Force engine and tuned pipe exhaust, using a 3/16” flexi going to a very
nicely made strut and rudder unit, propeller is currently X440. Mini servos and
AAA receiver pack help keep the weight down. The sponson spars are Carbon
fibre which were brought from a kite shop. Still being tested but looks
promising.

Hydroplane scratch build from wood, Based on full size USA unlimited Hydro
planes, which use helicopter jet engines and are capable of running at speeds of
200MPH. this boat was very nice and featured a fibre glass top. Running a CMB90
EVO2000 it was very fast and in fact the speed killed the boat. It was too fast
for a wood built boat and after several high speed flips it was retired due to
damage in the structure.

Water cooled 26cc petrol engine (pull start) using
normal muffler, connected to the flexi using a clutch, and driving a large
propeller on a Strut/rudder setup. Came Almost Ready To Run (ARTR) just
requiring AA batteries putting in the Transmitter and receiver, And Fuelling up.
An easy way to get into big scale petrol boats but lacking speed/power. Capable
of doing about 30MPH, but will do that all day on one take of Unleaded/oilmix. I
decided to take two 26cc engine and glue them together
but as yet i havent fitted the engine back in the boat.

This came as a ARTR boat with a Water
cooled 26cc petrol engine but lacking speed/power and only capable of doing
about 30MPH. so I took out the petrol engine and replaced with a CMB 90 EV2000
engine, using a straight shaft and keeping it as simple as possible, the boat
goes very fast but flips at hi speed. So more work required!

This was my first boat and
its about 20 years old.
Its been re-built a few time but has always had a Webra 61 engine and Octura
hardware. This is my most reliable boat and can always be relied on! Not the
fasted boat, and far too heavy (which is why it has lasted so long!) The webra
engines haven’t been available for some time, which is a shame as they seem to
be very good and last a long time. I have managed to get some NOS on EBay so
will keep this boat going for some time yet. (more

Brought on EBay this was very cheap only £13 pounds plus postage of £30! This
is going to be fitted out with one of the spare 15cc Webra’s I have and will
use a flexi and Strut/rudder. (more

these are a nice starter Nitro boat, very
simple and fast. Using a 3.5cc Outboard engine, mainly the Thunder tiger unit
but also available from OS and K&B. There can be a few of these type boats
turn up and we do try to have a few races. My boat is an older Aquacraft boat,
there most up to date version is wood, and the Bandit from Thunder tiger is very
common. (more

ARTR electric boat. Just needing a battery
and TX/RX. Very small but surprising quick, has a small outdrive and transom
mounted rudder, and comes with motor, ESC, and rudder servo pre installed. So
there really isn’t much to do.

Brought on EBay from a chap who makes them up the road in Norwich this was a
very nice fibre glass hull, very sharp and accurate. It is designed for electric
power and on its maiden voyage it burnt out the motor. This was my fault as I
don’t know much about electrics and it turned out I had a massive prop and was
placing to much load on the brushless motor. I also put the motor on a 6 cell
LiPo which was a bit to much!

very nice copy of
the ill fated 3 point hydro. i dont have much information
about this boat, it was brought down the club as help
was need and if it ran then a large space!! this boat is
powered by a small gas jet turbine and it sounded
wonderfull. the only problem was it was very heavy and
struggled to get on the plane by which time water had
gone up the exhaust and stoped the engine.
This is
another Aeromarine hull fitted out (i think) with a CMB
90. Very fast and fun. i belive this hull is still
obtainable, check out the website
for more details, Mark from Anglia
Model Center can get hold of these boats.

I very liverly
boat, using a 15cc CMB Nitro engine connected to a flexy
shaft and strut on the back. This boat tended to spend
more time out of the water than in it! Check out the USA
website for information on this boat, you should be
able to get it in UK, but the website in UK is not very
good. (more
